traffic and I know of people who receive hundreds of
thousands of visitors to their websites a year from video.
Just make sure that you include a prominent display of the
url to your website.

4) Develop free software and submit it to the popular
download sites

This is a very overlooked method of traffic generation. I
know of people who create software like screen savers and
submit them to all the popular download sites. Using this
technique they receive hundreds of thousands of visitors a
year.
